THE Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief, African Newspapers of Nigeria Plc., Mr. Segun Olatunji, has stressed the importance of training to human development.
Speaking while receiving members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Oyo State branch at the Tribune House, Ibadan, on Tuesday, Mr.Olatunji said constant “training helps to discover what is in human being.â€
According to him, “training can bring about multiplications.†He charged members of the CIPM to organise a monthly lecture so that it could win more laurels.
While congratulating CIPM for being the best chapter out of the 28 chapters of CIPM in the country, he said “we ready to assist you anyway you want. You should not hesitate to call on us.â€
He commended CIPM chairman, Mr. Akinwande Akinpelu, for being a good leader, saying “everything rises and falls with leadership. “If a company is not doing well, change the leadership and retrain the staff,†he said.
“Leadership is about influence, if you are not influential in your domain, you are not a leaderâ€, Mr. Olatunji added. Earlier, CIPM chairman had thanked Mr. Olatunji for being part of the success story of the organisation saying “we always remember your charge to us that we should look for sources of excellence.
“We are here to give testimony. We have been able to achieve little and we assure you that we are just startingâ€, he said. He thanked God for using Mr. Olatunji to be a blessing to the African Newspapers of Nigeria Plc., publishers of the Tribune titles.
